Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Science Minor in Agriculture Business
Welcome to the Agriculture Science Department of Santa Gertrudis ISD and the Academy Pride FFA Chapter!
At La Joya High School I was intruduced into Agriculture Education and the FFA organization as a freshman and have experianced first hand all the amazing things this organization can do for any student/member. The more you put into the FFA the more you will get out of it. Some of the events I participated in were Chapter Conducting, Livestock Judging, Fruit & Vegetable Judging, and Citrus Judging. My SAE projects were Market Swine (4 years) and Market Lambs (2 years). I graduated in the top 2.5% of my class in 2007.
After transfering from The University of Texas-Austin (pre-pharmacy) to Texas A&M University-Kingsville (agriculture) I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011.
I have been with Santa Gertrudis ISD since 2011 as their Agriculture Science Teacher & FFA Advisor. While at Santa Gertrudis I have increased student enrollment in Agriculture courses and trained/adviced several teams and individuals who have received numerous FFA awards at the District, Area, and State level.
